The Sennheiser brand is well-known for its quality audio products. Not only are they of high grade, they look good and are durable too. In online forum chats about audio products, you’ll be guaranteed that Sennheiser would be mentioned almost immediately. Even for audiophiles, this is the brand to have.
Our friends over at Sennheiser lent us one of their newest entry-level headphones, the Sennheiser CX 215. It’s fresh, it’s cool, and it’s available in five colors. It’s also almost dirt-cheap relative to professional headphones. If you’re looking for a cheap pair of headphones that’s internationally recognized, read our Sennheiser CX 215 review.
Design
The Sennheiser CX 215 is by no means revolutionary in design. It’s structurally similar to every pair of entry-level headphones out there.
Three good things about the Sennheiser CX 215‘s design: 1) Finger grips behind the headphone heads for easier adjustment while on the move; 2) extended stems for better cord protection and; 3) a cord clip to organize untidy cords.
It’s also worth noting the fresh colors of the CX 215 (available in blue, bronze, red, green, and orange) , albeit they were fashioned for 2011. The ear tips meanwhile are either rubber or silicone, a material that really grips on ears.
The headphone jack is set at a 90 degree angle.

Performance
At its price range, the Sennheiser CX 215 is exactly where it belongs.
We ran beats from the Black Eyed Peas and Skrillex and the performance was alright. Bass is enough to mark this pair a quality entry-level pair; noise reduction is just right to block mild to moderate noise coming from the outside; and sound integrity is okay at moderate volume levels.
The only negative thing about the Sennheiser CX 215 is the loss of sound integrity and clarity at higher volume levels. Bass remains in the background but the rhythm will somewhat sound canny, but to a minimum extent. If that doesn’t bother you, then well and good.
The comfort levels of the Sennheiser CX 215 are amazing, save for the easily tangled cords. It could just sit in your ears for hours without you needing to readjust it for position. It’s like it’s never really there in the first place.
Verdict
For P1,990.00 (approx. US$ 48.00. You can find this at Amazon for $ 30.00 exclusive of shipping), the Sennheiser CX 215 is a good option for people looking to buy a pair of no-nonsense, entry-level, branded headphones. It sounds great, it looks great, and it sure is affordable. And although its performance is at par with other, cheaper headphones in its price range, a Sennheiser is a Sennheiser, at least for the brand-conscious.
And that wraps it out for this post. Do share this to your audiophile friends if they’re looking for something to eargasm on.
‘Till my next installment.
